AMADEUS II. The Place For Ribs
Restaurant Amadeus II is located in Ghent’s historic city centre. Our restaurant is in one of Ghent’s most beautiful, historic buildings, built in the 16th century in typical Ghent Renaissance style. The former rhetorician’s chambers are located on the Goudenleeuwplein, in the shadow of St. Olaf’s Cathedral, the Belfry and St. Nicholas’ Church.
After many successful years of the Amadeus restaurant in 't Patershol, we decided to open a second establishment in Ghent. Amadeus II was opened in July 2005. We have retained the same Amadeus concept. When you visit us here you’ll be able to enjoy our typical house style - identical to ’t Patershol and popular with everyone - tourists and Belgians, teachers and students, young and old. The house speciality is “spare ribs à volonté”. This dish is served with a side-salad and a jacket potato, with our own special herb butter whose flavour really is second to none. The “à volonté” means “as much as you like”, and we really mean this: extra spare ribs, potatoes, salad and accompanying sauces really can be ordered without any limit, for a very reasonable fixed price.
